We live in Los Angeles, California (America/Los_Angeles).
My 6th grader made these two errors on his homework tonight:
1. 1/3 + 1/4 = 2/7 (he added the top numbers and added the bottom numbers).
2. 2/5 + 1/2 = 3/7 (he added the top numbers and added the bottom numbers).
Please:
- Group these by error cause into a single 5-line card in his mistake notebook (prompt, wrong, right, tag, cause).
- Set up a daily 19:00 review reminder in America/Los_Angeles timezone so we can review cards when they fall due.
Answer
I'll start by checking the family profile and what cards (if any) are due today.
Both errors share the same cause (adding numerators and denominators directly when denominators differ), so they belong on one card. Let me record it and then set up the daily review reminder.
Card recorded. Now let me set up the daily 19:00 review reminder.
Both done.
**Card written** (one card, both errors share the same cause):
| line | content |
| --- | --- |
| prompt | 1/3 + 1/4 ; 2/5 + 1/2 |
| wrong | 2/7 ; 3/7 |
| right | 7/12 ; 9/10 |
| tag | fractions |
| cause | added numerators and denominators directly when denominators differ |
**eminder set:** daily at 19:00 America/Los_Angeles (fires tonight at 19:04 PT, then each evening). When it goes off, the notebook will surface any cards whose due date has arrived, and he'll self-test before the right answer shows. Say "stop" any time to turn it off.
Note: there are already a dozen cards in the notebook from earlier sessions that are due today (untouched, reps=0) — separate from the one we just added. When you want to do the review tonight, say the word and I'll pull the due prompts so he can try them first.
